Document Checklist

So that Cash for Vans can buy your van we need you to bring some documents with you so that we can verify your identity, your address and ownership of the vehicle. Below are the documents that you need to bring:

  • The vehicle's V5 registration document (logbook) which shows you as the registered keeper
  • Your full driving licence, this must include both the photo licence and the counterpart
  • Two proofs of address dated within the last 3 months, e.g. utility or phone bills
  • A cheque book, statement or debit card for the account where the payment is to be made
  • Any service history or information that you have for the van
  • A valid MOT certificate, if applicable
  • Owner's manual
  • Where outstanding finance is to be settled by cash for vans you must get and provide a letter from your finance company stating the current settlement amount.

VAT

Additional information is required if you or your vehicle qualifies for VAT. If this is the case you will need to bring the following:

  • VAT registration certificate, either relating to a company or an individual
  • The original purchase invoice for the vehicle. This must show that VAT has been paid
  • If you are selling the van on behalf of a company you need an original copy of the company bank account statement or company cheque book

  • Spare keys
  • Any satellite navigation system discs
  • Locking wheel nut for alloy wheels where fitted
  • Radio code
  • Detachable front for radio
  • Security code for obtaining replacement keys
